I'm delighted to be heading back again to QVC, broadcasting from Philadelphia, on St. Patrick's day 2012. This time I am launching a brand new product, Irish Pub Stone Coasters, made in Ireland by Kara Irish Pottery Limited. Four of my paintings have been subsumed into the stone using a brand new U.S. solvent ink jet technology, that gently colours the stone without inhibiting the porous quality of the sandstone. The paintings are; The Thatched Pub, Sligo, The Bulman Kinsale Co. Cork, Oliver St. John Gogarty Temple Bar Dublin and Durty Nelly's Bunratty Co. Clare. The stone is quarried, cored, cut and sanded in the Northwest of Ireland, the natural variations in the stone making each coaster unique. The porous nature of the stone naturally absorbs liquids, making sandstone the perfect material for drinks coasters.
